Larry R. Hammond, age 73, of Tafton died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Mr. Hammond was born November 25, 1938 in Glendale , CA and was the son of the late Gilbert Reed and Harriet Jane (Kirby) Hammond. He worked for IBM for 25 years as director of security after 10 1/2 years with the US Navy Submarine Service as Chief Petty Officer on nuclear subs. Larry owned & operated PC Smart & PC 2000 in Hawley. Mr. Hammond was a member and ordained Elder of First Presbyterian Church in Hawley. Larry also served as Lt. of Fire Police for Lakeville Volunteer Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife: Robin K.(Mutter) Hammond, daughters: Kathryn E. Hammond of Emmaus, PA, Lauren M. Hammond at home; grandson: Jacob; his first wife, Angelina C. Matteo Hammond of Long Island, NY; daughter: Lisa A. Hammond of Fairfield, CT and three sons: Steven R. Hammond of Long Island, NY, Jeffrey S. Hammond of Long Island, NY, Christopher T. Hammond of Long Island, NY; Grandchildren, Allison, Taylor, Andrew, Eric & Nicole; brother & sister-in-law, Stephen & Olga Hammond of Aptos, CA; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 PM at First Presbyterian Church Of Hawley, 815 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 at the church with Rev. William Samford, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemtery, Hanover Twp., PA. Memorials may be made to Neuropathy Assoc., 60 E. 42nd St., Suite 942, New York, NY 10165.
