Obituary of Cynthia Ann Edwards

Cynthia Ann Edwards, age 65, of Hawley died Friday, April 16, 2021 at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton with her family by her side. Cindy was born November 16, 1955, in Honesdale and was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Elizabeth Jean (Silsby) Bush. A member of BVM Queen of Peace RC Church while growing up in Hawley, she was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, Class of 1973. Cindy was employed as an Engagement Specialist with NY State Dept. of Health. Her life's work was helping those battling drug and alcohol addiction through which she touched the lives of countless people. She was always focused on caring for other people before herself. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ryan and Mary Edwards of Tafton; three grandchildren: Olivia, Owen and Gavin Edwards; two brothers: Michael and Brian Bush, both of Harleysville, PA; and four nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Bush Reedy, in 1989. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 20, from 1 to 4 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will follow at 4:30 PM at the funeral home. Her family will also host a Celebration of Cindy’s Life at a future date to be determined. Donations can go to https://vipempowers.org.
