Obituary of Fenbar Jason Akin
Please share a memory of Fenbar to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Sunday, May 9, 2021, Fenbar Jason (Sullivan) Akin, fun-loving son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away at the age of 42. Fen was born on March 15, 1979 in South Kingston, RI to Carol (Akin, née Olafsen) and John Sullivan. He spent his childhood years rambling the rocky coast of Newport, RI and his teen years reveling in care-free high jinks in Ronkonkoma, NY. He graduated from Connetquot High School and shortly thereafter learned the skill of boat finishing with his father on Long Island. Fenbar loved the ocean and enjoyed traveling up and down the East Coast caring for boats. He also had a passion for cooking, martial arts, visual arts, music, hunting, and fishing. He particularly loved nature and spent his last years living happily and simply beside a brook in the Pocono Mountains. He was known for his delicious home-cooked seafood dinners, his love of music festivals, and his nonconformist nature. Fenbar is survived by his father John (Sully) and mother Carol, his sister Carla Stilson, beloved nephew and niece, Sullivan and Éa, and his many cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Fenbar's Life will be held at his mother's home in Rowland, PA at 3pm on Saturday, May 22. For further details, please contact Carla at 814-689-9801.
