Obituary of Maureen Catherine Vazquez

Maureen Catherine Vazquez, age 55, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley died Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton. She is survived by her husband, Gary C. Vazquez. Born July 10, 1965, in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of Maureen Catherine Scala and the late Richard W. Hansen. Formerly of Middletown, NY, Maureen was the Environmental Services Manager of Horton Hospital until she moved to Fawn Lake Forest with her husband 13 years ago. She then worked as a customer service representative for Blue Ridge Cable. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother: Maureen Scala of Hawley; one sister: Deborah Hitlin and her husband Pete of Queensbury, NY; and her nephews and nieces: Christopher Fall and his wife Courtney, Patrick Fall and his wife Raechel and their children Collin, Peyton and Autumn, Christine Hansen and her sons Tristan and Brayden; and her aunts: Patricia Contaxis, Kathleen Ferreri and Theresa Levelle Olette. Maureen was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Christopher Hansen. Calling hours will be Saturday, June 12, from 2:30 to 4 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Private cremation will be held at the convenience of the family.
