Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Fasig

Jean DeBeech Fasig of Lakeville died of natural causes on Sunday, July 4, 2021.
Born April 5, 1936, in The Bronx NY, she was the daughter of the late Leo DeBeech and Margaret (Meehan) DeBeech. She was a Laboratory Technician until her marriage. She and her husband Charlie raised their children in Copiague, LI, NY until they moved to Lakeville in 1976.
She was vivacious, an excellent cook and an artist. She enjoyed raising her children and helping raise her grandchildren. Her greatest role was being known as Grandma Jean to all. Summers were her favorite as she was surrounded by her grandchildren and their friends while she hosted pool parties, barbeques and trips to the Chinese buffet.
Jean was a member and volunteer for the Hawley American Legion, Post 311, and enjoyed her days of bingo and entertainment at the Hawley Senior Center.
Surviving are her three daughters: Lori Fasig-Schaepe of Dickson City, Dawn Fasig-Reinhold and her husband George of The Hideout, and Susan Fasig and her companion Brian Whitesell of Lakeville; four grandchildren: Toni Lynn Kuzmiak, Michael Charles Kuzmiak and wife Brielle, Kaeleigh Jean DeAngelo and husband Matthew, and Delanie Jean Schaepe and her fiancée Bryan Swendsen; and two great-grandchildren: Hadley Jean Swendsen and Michael Dean Kuzmiak; and her brother, Leo DeBeech and his wife Lillian of Westchester, NY.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Charles “Charlie” Fasig.
A Celebration of Life for Jean will be held from 3 to 7 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Teeters’ East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley, PA 18428.
