Jean M. Foell, 90, of Hawley passed away July 7, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. Born November 3, 1930, she was the daughter of Edward F. Welsh and Dora (Martin) Welsh. Jean was a 1948 graduate of Hawley High School and Wayne Commercial School. She was the first Miss Hawley and competed in the state beauty pageant in Wellsboro, PA. Her senior year in high school, she met the love of her life, Robert Foell from Jackson Heights, New York. They were married June 17, 1950 and raised three children, Robert (Bobby), Janice, and Donna. Jean was predeceased by her son, Robert Foell and her brother, Walter Welsh. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert Foell and her two daughters, Janice Edwards of Lords Valley, PA and Donna Stock of Vero Beach, FL. Jean was a member of Wallenpaupack Church. She was a devout Christian and lived out her faith every day and is now with her Lord and Savior. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Kathy and Maria and the nurses and aids at Traditional Hospice, Mary Carol, Tara and Melissa. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 14th from 1 to 3 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA, followed by the funeral service at 3 PM. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, with inurnment in Glen Dyberry Cemetery in Honesdale. lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hawley Fire Dept., PO Box 61, Hawley, PA 18428.
