Martin S. Katz, age 76, of Hawley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Toni Katz. Born October 10, 1944, in Monticello, NY, Martin was the son of the late Morris and Rose (Bernstein) Katz. He was a graduate of Monticello High School, Class of 1962 and was an SP5 in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. Prior to his retirement Martin worked as a paper hanger and was a member of Paper Hangers Local 490, District Council 9. He was an avid fisherman and coin collector, but most of all he was a loving husband, wonderful father and doting grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Brandis Stracuzzi and her husband Kevin of Teaneck, NJ; his son: Benjamin Katz and his wife Deborah of Hawley; two grandchildren: Leila and Joshua Katz; one sister: Nancy Rowinski of Shohola; his niece: Michelle Edwards of Rock Hill, NY; his nephew: Brian Van Gordon of Acworth, GA; and his special friends: Robina and Gary Fenster of Boca Raton, FL. There will be a Graveside Service on Monday, August 16, at 2:00 PM at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Memorials may be made to Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center at www.poconowildlife.com.
