Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris Elizabeth Waller, 89, of Honesdale died peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Doris was born October 17, 1931. She was the last surviving child of Albert Matthew and Mildred Amelia (Comfort) Warning. All six of her brothers: Norman, Harold, Floyd, Arthur, Robert and Glenn preceded her in death. Doris was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Roberts, her husband, Donald (Scotty) Waller, her daughter, Denise and her son Gary. Doris is survived by one son, Kevin (Doc) Waller of Honesdale, PA, one granddaughter, Corey Waller and two grandsons, Cody and Connor Waller of Honesdale, PA, a niece, Denise Werkheiser of NC, whom Doris raised and a niece, Theresa Warring-Nash-Rosler, who was her caregiver for the last four years, as well as many other nieces and nephews. A descendant of the Native American Lenape Tribe, Doris was proud of her heritage. Doris owned and operated the Double W Guest Ranch and Riding Stable which later became the Double W Ranch Bed and Breakfast and Triple W Riding Stables. Doris’s greatest joy was always a get-together or party at the “ranch”. A final request was for a celebration of her life with a big party. The Waller family is planning this celebration to be held October 14-23, 2022. As well, Doris’s greatest wish was for the bed and breakfast to reopen. Many friends over the years have expressed the desire to do something special for her. We are honoring her wish by requesting that anyone who has an interest in or any way they would like to assist or contribute to making her wish come true, please call 570-226-3118 (PartnersInChronicCBD.net business number), or 570-470-3586 (Theresa).
