Obituary of Elizabeth Anne McMurray

Elizabeth Anne McMurray, age 59, of Beach Lake died Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Carmen and Herbert Holmstrom (predeceased). She is survived by her husband (Mark McMurray) and step-children, Brandon and Brooke (Basilio) and grandson Basilio. Elizabeth was a sister to Jo Anne Boulton (David), Terry Pizzurro (Frank), Herbert Holmstrom (Christine), Margaret Holmstrom (predeceased) Michael Holmstrom (Nong) and Jennifer Holmstrom. Elizabeth graduated Valedictorian from Katharine Gibbs, and was a well-respected legal administrator at Willkie, Farr and Gallagher in New York and at Harry Katz Law Firm in Queens before going into private practice in Hawley, PA. Lisa loved NASCAR and was an avid fan of Rusty Wallace, she enjoyed rock and heavy metal music, The Simpsons TV show and her dogs; Rusty (predeceased), Penelope and Kody. She was Aunt to Jacqueline Campo, Jenevieve Campo, Donna Pizzurro, Monica Husband, Roxanne Babani, Kristin Bensen, Jesse Judy, Gabrielle Holmstrom, Brittaney Holmstrom, David Boulton, Kimberly Pizzurro, Ourie Judy & Herbert Judy and Great Aunt to Alexa Corrales, Tiana Tucker, Daniella Freeman, Lucia Scott, Janessa Boulton, Horatio, Alicio and Milo Judy. Elizabeth had a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her greatest passion was teaching CCD at Queen of Peace Church to the children and becoming a Eucharistic Minister. She blessed those in her presence with love and laughter. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will follow the Mass in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.
