Obituary of Jerome Patrick Smith

Jerome Patrick Smith, age 90, of Honesdale and formerly of Staten Island, NY and The Villages, FL, died Monday, October 18, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Mr. Smith was born July 30, 1931 in Staten Island, NY and was the 2nd youngest of 18 children of the late Patrick G and Catherine (Hemsworth) Smith. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a fireman for the FDNY. He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Patricia Ann (Wade) Smith, one daughter: Maureen Smith of NY and one son: Jerome Smith of NY, three step sons: Todd & his wife, Linda Calabro of Paupack, PA, Chad Calabro and his partner, Lori Gillette of Raleigh, NC and Paul & his wife, Dana Calabro of Cocoa, FL; four grandchildren; three brothers: Walker Smith of NJ, David Smith of Callicoon, NY and Patrick Smith of Summerfield, FL. Calling hours will be Monday, October 25th from 2 to 4 PM at Teeters’ East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 26th at 10 AM at St Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 106 Gravity Rd, Lake Ariel. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Honesdale.
