Obituary of John James Love, Sr.

John James Love, Sr., age 67, of Masthope, Lackawaxen passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 20, 2021. He is survived by the love of his life of 45 years, Patricia Ann (Motz) Love. Born January 21, 1954, in Flushing, NY, John was the son of the late Richard Walter and Edna Mae (Brannigan) Love. He worked as an engineer, most recently at Flushing Hospital in Queens, NY, until his retirement in 2020. Formerly of College Point, NY, he had been a resident of Masthope for 31 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved daughter: Tracy Ann Love Williams and her husband Eugene of East Haven, CT; two treasured granddaughters: Madison Rose and Emma Catherine Williams; sister: Patricia Trainor of Richmond Hill, NY; and younger brother: Kevin Love of Queens, NY. There is also an abundance of adored brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. John was predeceased by his son, John J. Love Jr., in 2020, as well as two brothers, Richard and Joseph Love. John’s heart was as almost as big as his sense of humor. He loved life and loved to laugh. John was always the life of the party. He loved music and dancing (this usually ended with a lamp shade, or something on his head). When he wasn’t with his partner in crime gambling, or visiting his daughter and granddaughters in Connecticut, he could usually be found in his garage. He was always helping someone or fixing something. He was generous beyond belief and has left more broken hearts than can ever be counted. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 23, from 12 to 4 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
