Obituary of Gloria Bretone

Gloria Bretone, age 84, a resident of Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale died Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Furer and beloved life partner George Connelly. Born September 19, 1937, in Jackson Heights, NY, Gloria was the daughter of the late Livio and Catherine (Guiliano) Bretone. Formerly of New Jersey and later Hawley, PA, Gloria had worked as a chef and a waitress prior to her retirement. Gloria was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Rowland, PA. She loved to play cards and was a great cook. She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Furer and her life partner Victor Ciccolello of South Toms River, NJ, Jo Ann Moore and her husband DeLoy of Charlottesville, VA, and Robin Furer of Gibsonton, FL; one son: Scott Furer and his wife Jackie of West Palm Beach, FL; one brother: Tony Bretone of Roslyn, NY; seven grandchildren: Lynn and Shawn Stevens, Jodi Greenfeder, Megan and Dave Osborne, Maureen Elswick and Alexis Esposito; and one great grandchild: Shaun Larraburu. Gloria was preceded in death by her son, Martin Furer, and her grandson, Michael Greenfeder. Calling hours will be Saturday, August 6, from 10 am to 11:30 at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30 at the funeral home with Father Richard Bretone of St. Anthony of Padua and St. Thomas Aquinas RC Church officiating.
