Obituary of Barbara A. Clickner

Barbara A. Clickner, age 77, a Hawley resident of most of her life, died Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James L. Clickner. Born May 23, 1945, in Newark, NJ, Barbara was the daughter of the late Michael and Leda (Wegst) Silfko. She was a member of the Hawley High School Class of 1963, the last class to graduate from that school. After working for many years at Sherman's Mill in Hawley, she worked as deli manager at the Lake Region IGA until her retirement in 2008. Barbara enjoyed flowers and watching the birds at the birdfeeders she kept filled year-round. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: James M. Clickner of Hawley; her sister-in-law: Judith Slifko of Hawley; and two nephews: Matthew And Timothy Slifko. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy, and her brother, Michael Slifko. There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, August 6, at 3:00 PM at Indian Orchard Cemetery, 997 Texas Palmyra Hwy., Honesdale with Deacon Paul J. Cooper officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Wayne County Memorial Hospital, 601 Park St., Honesdale, PA 18431 in recognition of the excellent care Barbara received in the Emergency Room.
