Obituary of Conrad J. Liss

Conrad J. Liss, 79, of Lakeville, PA, formerly of New Providence, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. Conrad is survived by his loving wife, Karen L. Liss (nee Graebner), to whom he was married for 55 years.
Born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Vincent J. Liss and Barbara Birkner, and raised by his stepmother the late Clara Rozmiarek, Conrad graduated from Lane Tech and then joined the Construction Battalion of the Navy ('SeaBees'). Conrad and Karen were wed on July 11, 1959.
Conrad worked for American Chain and Cable Company (ACCO) and was transferred to New Providence, NJ in 1971. In 1977, Conrad started his own business, Pioneer Associates and Erectors, Inc., until his retirement in 2000.
In addition to his work, Conrad enjoyed his time as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus (Summit Council #783) where he had served as past District Deputy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Conrad and Karen retired to Lakeville, PA in the Woodland Hills Community on Lake Wallenpaupack, and was formerly the Community Association president. He was also a member of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Hawley.
In addition to his wife Karen, Conrad is survived by his children and spouses, Michael Liss (Sue), Mark Liss (Michelle), Nancy Muha (Rich), James Liss (Mary), Thomas Liss (Michele); his nine grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Brian, Kevin, Julia, Emily, Nicholas, Michael and Vincent; his brother Vincent James Liss of Dayton, Ohio, his sisters Joanne Kengott of Barrington, Illinois and Sister Mary Luke Liss of Des Plaines, Illinois, his brother-in-law and wife, August and Lynne Graebner of Aurora, Illinois.
Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 21, from 3 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. There will be a Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.
