John William Spears, 71, of Hawley, passed away after a long battle with an illness on Saturday, January 14th, 2023, at home with his wife by his side.
He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Julie; children: Elizabeth of Dickson City, Andrew of Honesdale, and Kathy of East Northport, NY; sister: Susan of Hartford, CT; and one grandchild: Anthony Jr. of Dickson City, PA.
John was an avid artist and shared his love of painting by teaching art classes and having his artwork displayed in various businesses throughout the area. He also appeared on TV shows after his paintings of space were discovered.
He enjoyed playing bass guitar and was most notably in the band Sidetracked for many years.
John was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
