Obituary of Luecreacher Stevenson

Luecreacher Stevenson, age 83, of Linwood Nursing Home, Scranton, and a former resident of Hawley, departed her life on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Charles Fulton Stevenson, in 1996. Born December 17, 1939 at Greeleyville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Miona (McKithen) Morant and Sam Morant. Lue graduated from Johnson's High School in Timmonsville, SC. She resided for many years in Plainfield, NJ, and was employed in the laundry department at Birchwood Nursing Home, Edison, NJ. After moving to Hawley, she became an active member of the Hawley Senior Center. Lue was a member of Faith Christian Outreach Center in Lords Valley. While living in Plainfield, NJ, she was a longtime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a true evangelist by sharing her profound faith with those around her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who dearly loved her entire family. Lue was blessed to have two sons: Apostle Michael A. Stevenson Sr. (Jackie) of Lords Valley and Rodney Stevenson who preceded her in death; one step-daughter: Tracey Frazier (Richard) of Plainfield, NJ; a daughter-in-law: Kasha Stevenson of New Jersey. She was blessed to have a very close brother-in-law, Jesse Stevenson (Vivian) of Plainfield, NJ. She also had nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, March 6, from 10 to 11 am at Faith Christian Outreach Center, 104 Red Shale Rd., Hawley, PA. The funeral begin at 11:00 AM with Apostle Michael A. Stevenson and Pastor Jackie Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley.
