Obituary of Ann Pagano

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ann Pagano, 81, of Tanglewood Lakes, Greentown, passed away on March 18, 2023 at her home after a long battle with dementia. Ann was born on May 7, 1941, to Nancy Cavalieri and Bill McGrorey in Brooklyn, New York. Though her recent home was in Tanglwood Lakes for the past 26 years, she has strong roots in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island. She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel School for Girls in Manhattan, New York, graduating Class of 1955. She went on to study at Lafayette High School, graduating in 1959. She had such a love for learning that at the age of 55 she completed her Associates Degree at Kingsborough College in 1997. In 1956, she met Thomas Pagano and they became engaged in 1959. They were then married on October 14, 1960. They gave birth to their adorable, happy and incredibly active daughters Letitia Pagano on June 1, 1966 and Kristine Pagano on January 20, 1970. This allowed Ann to accomplish what she wanted in life - to love, be loved, and to have a family of her own. She was incredibly in love with Thomas and her two daughters. Family was important to her. Ann was a very independent person and she was passionate about teaching her daughters to follow their own paths and chase their dreams. She took pride in her own career and was part of the administration at Midwood High School for over 20 years. She was always there for everyone. Ann excelled at propping up her family and friends and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to enrich and improve the lives of others. Ann immediately lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was a joyful presence with her beautiful hair, elegant fashion choices and bubbly personality. She loved her friends and family, and filled her home with warmth and kindnes. We would like her celebration of life to be full of vibrancy, color and joyful music. We will miss her greatly. Ann is survived by her husband, Thomas Pagano; two daughters and sons-in-law, Letitia and Matthew Squillaro of Haverford, PA, and Kristine and Albert Panariello of Rumson, NJ; five grandchildren: Berlyn Squillaro, Jack Squillaro, Meagan Panariello, Jordan Panariello and Emily Panariello. The family requests happy thoughts and prayers of good wishes in honor of her wonderful zest for life and the positive impact she had on anyone she came in contact with. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, April 11th at 10am at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Avenue, Hawley, by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor.
