Theresa M. Cleary, age 92, of Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart died Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart.

Theresa was born March 3, 1931, in Newark, NJ, and was the daughter of the late James V. and Margaret (Madigan) Cleary. She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, NJ. She worked for 28 years as clerical staff for an insurance company in New Jersey.

Theresa moved to Hawley in 1979 to be near her only sibling, her sister, the late Eileen Schariest, and Eileen's family.

She is survived by her nephews and niece: Albert Schariest Jr. and his wife Barbara, James Schariest and his wife Fili, Daniel Schariest and his wife Kathy, and Elizabeth Hooper and her husband Richard.

Private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Honesdale.

Theresa's family would like to thank Dr. Paula Bennett and the staff at Wayne Woodlands Manor, and especially aide Martha, for their compassion and dedication to the care of Theresa.
