Obituary of Thomas Leo Jacques

Thomas Leo Jacques, age 97, of Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Scranton, and formerly of Blooming Grove, died Friday, March 31, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn (Krubsack) Jacques, in 2018. Born April 26, 1925, in Chicago, IL, Thomas was the son of the late Leo and Nora (Brennan) Jacques. A World War II Navy veteran, he worked as a District Manager for Kemper Insurance until his retirement in 1983. He and his wife Marilyn raised their family in Summit, NJ, and enjoyed their summer house on Lake Wallenpaupack before making it their full time residence after Thomas's retirement. They also had a home in North Fort Myers, Florida for nearly 30 years. He is survived by his five children: Daniel Jacques and his wife Millie of Union , NJ, Patricia Seunarine and her husband Harold of Smyrna, DE, Julianne Sonsteby and her husband Erik of Hawley, Catherine Becker and her husband Christopher of Tafton, and Michael Jacques and his wife Kerry of Welling, OK; one sister: Camille Jacques of Batavia, IL; ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. His urn will be interred next to his beloved wife in Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota. FL, at a future date.
