Carolyn, here goes:
Susan & I met almost 50 years ago when our children, Carolyn & Marc started kindergarten in P. S. 203 in Brooklyn.
We quickly became close friends.
Susan was funny, irreverent and had an incredibly generous heart. We spent practically every day together.
I have very fond memories of us going to Kings Plaza Mall while our kids were in school. I always wanted to push baby Ricky in his stroller-he was a beautiful baby and many people would stop to admire him. Most of the time Susan let me.
Unfortunately, after years our lives went in different directions and we lost contact.
Last summer Marc learned that Susan was very ill. He drove Sal & me to Cape May to support Carolyn and to surprise Susan with a visit to the nursing home. We spent a lovely day together with Carolyn and Susan. Practically the first thing Susan (always the consummate hostess) said was“Carolyn, get them a glass of wine.” We laughed, reminisced about old times & brought Susan up to date with news from the old neighborhood. It was a good visit.
Fortunately, we were able to visit Susan twice after she was transferred to PA. Both times she was alert & shared her special sense of humor. We were delighted & Marc brought up memories from years ago that were almost forgotten.
Sadly, Susan’s health declined quickly. Carolyn very thoughtfully face timed me for a last conversation
with Susan. I told her that I loved her.
Susan will always be remembered as a dear friend. My family shares our sorrow with Carolyn, Aunt Janet and all that knew her.

Being neighbors way back when on Avenue L in Brooklyn I remember Susan living almost directly across from my house. Always sweet and friendly. She was a very good soul. Her daughter and my daughter are still good friends to this day.

Susan and my Mom were such good friends. I remember when me, Carolyn and couple of our friends had a sleep-over in my parent’s camper. Of course we didn’t stay in it. We were 4 girls in pajamas laughing and dancing in the street. Susan called Carolyn over at about 2am and we all thought for sure we are in trouble. Instead, Susan handed Carolyn a ton of snacks she wanted us to have! What a cool Mom!
