I did not know Elaine long, but she was an amazing woman. She started volunteering at the Dessin Animal Shelter, where I work, in the beginning of the pandemic. She loved to sit and do the laundry while watching cat videos on her Ipad. She was someone the whole staff looked forward to seeing and was someone that everyone automatically gravitated towards. She also quickly became someone who we all would vent to. She was very much loved and will be very missed by all of us here at Dessin.

Randy, Leigh and Lindsay words cannot even begin to express our sorrow, you are in our prayers. Elaine was a friend, a support, the closest person to our family. She was the one who took care of us as we began our life in the US. We could always count on her help and good heart. She devoted her time to our daughter, Karina, with whom she formed a beautiful bond. It was with her that Karina spent beautiful vacations and discovered the world. Elaine was always there!
Despite our later return to Poland, Elaine never left us. Weekly phone calls, our vacations together in the US and Europe strengthened our bond. We became the closest family to each other. We told her about our plans for the future, asked for advice and could always rely on her.
Elaine passing away comes as a shock to us, something incomprehensible. We all hoped for our next holidays together, spending time reminiscing, going through photos, laughing about our trips together, just being together.
Elaine you are a person who will always be in our hearts, we will never forget such a wonderful, good, selfless, helpful, loving Ciocia Elaine.
We love you! You will always remain with us.
The one who remains in our hearts and memory, never dies.

Randy, Leigh, Lindsay – there are no words to describe how sorry I am for your loss. Elaine was always such a caring, loving, courageous and kind person with an excellent sense of humor. She will be remembered with love and joy.
All the memories I have with her and Wujek are so wonderful and beautiful, full of smile and happiness. Doing arts&crafts together, watching movies, baking, relaxing and playing by the pool, driving around Hawley and travelling around the world – these are memories that shaped me as an adult and that will stay with me forever. Ciocia will always be with me as a joyful and vivacious person and above all – never giving up. She taught me to be strong, patient and good to others. I consider the vacations I spent with her and Randy to be the most beautiful in my life – full of carefree and happiness.
It's so hard for me to accept that she's passed away – that I won't get messages from her anymore, that when I fly to Hawley I won't see her again and that nothing will simply be the same anymore. She was my family and my friend and I know that she will always be in my heart, my thoughts and my memories.

Elaine – a friend, a fighter, a wonderful woman, who was always so helpful, full of joy and love. She was always supporting others with such a beautiful smile on her face, spreading happiness and kind word.
For me, she was an oasis of peace, kindness and a person on whom I and my family could always rely on. She took care of me and my loved ones by giving sense of security, love and hope for a better tomorrow. She became my close family!
Elaine passing away is something incomprehensible to me and my loved ones. After all, so many plans...

Thinking about all of the times I would bump into Lainee and she was always so eager to catch up and say "hi"- and she genuinely cared about how life was going. I'll always remember the good old days in the soundbooth with the Staff Show, and the jokes that would volley around the room from Chris Engel, Lainee and myself, even if they were over my head at times. Randy always spoke so fondly of Elaine as years went on and running into him became more and more of a rare but welcome occurrence. She was the perfect yin to Randy's yang, and a shining example of the good we need in this world. My heart goes out to the entire Barnes family as well as her friends and family. She will be missed dearly.

Lainey's big smile was always one of the first things we'd see when my family and I got to Woodloch for our favorite vacation of the year. My parents and her would share hugs and the first thing she'd say is how big we (the kids) had gotten after taking us in for the first time since the previous year. Usually with a coffee pot in-hand. My parents would then ask how the girls were and she'd share the latest update on her loving daughters, always beaming with pride to discuss their latest life adventures. This is an immeasurable loss to the Woodloch family and our family holds the Barnes in our hearts.
