Vincent Paul Brown, age 74, of Tink Wig, Hawley, died Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Edghill-Brown.
Known to his friends as "Vinnie Brown," he was born June 11, 1949, in Kingston, Jamaica, and was the son of the late Vincent Bernard and Elfriede (Bradshaw) Brown. A US Army veteran, he was a supervisor for the Depository Trust Clearing Corporation, retiring after 40 years with the company.
He was a member of New Covenant Fellowship Pentecostal Church in Hawley.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Vincent Brown III and Gary Brown of Hawley; three sisters: Gloria Christian of Missouri, Ruby Bryan of Florida and Dorothy Clarke of York, PA; one nephew: Robert Clarke; two nieces: Sharon Clarke and Christina Smith; and one sister-in-law: Barbara Edghill of Brooklyn, NY and a host of additional family members.
Calling hours will be Monday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 7 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, Inc., 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 10:00 AM at New Covenant Fellowship Pentecostal Church, 32 Columbus Ave, Hawley with Sr. Pastor Ron Schutz officiating. Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley, following the service.
