Jacqueline Christine Mitchell, age 89, of Lackawaxen died peacefully at home with her son on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Mrs. Mitchell was born December 12, 1933, in Bogota, Columbia, and was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Ophelia (Hernandez) Vergnaud. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marvin Mitchell III, in 2020.

She was employed as a nurse's aide by Long Island Jewish Hospital and later at Mid Island Hospital. Her favorite job was working at Masthope, but she most loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters: Deborah Mitchell of Centereach, NY and Michelle Mitchell of Farmingville, NY, and two sons: Kenneth Mitchell of Williston Park, NY and Jeffrey Mitchell Sr. of Lackawaxen, PA, ten grandchildren: Stacie Rudilosso, Danielle Katinos, Sean Connor; Jessica Mitchell, Jeffrey Mitchell, Jr., Jacqueline Mitchell, Kenneth Mitchell, Jr., Mallory Mitchell, Crystal Mitchell and Charlie Mitchell, and eight great grandchildren: Jonathan, Samantha, Joshua and Salvadore Rudilosso, Kailey, Jacob and Hazel Katinos, and Aurora Brumleve.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel.
