Harold Francis Rollins Obituary

Harold Francis Rollins, age 95, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley died Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Therese (Carney) Rollins, in 2014.


Born January 25, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY, Harold was the son of the late Harold and Loretta (Callahan) Rollins. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Formerly of Elmont, NY, Harold had a 40-year career with Con Edison in New York, retiring as personnel supervisor.



While working full-time, he also worked as a park ranger, volunteered with EMS and was an Auxiliary Police Officer in Nassau County in East Rockaway.

After moving to Fawn Lake Forest in 1989, he joined Central Volunteer Fire Department, Station 27, eventually becoming Captain of the Fire Police and joined the Lackawaxen Volunteer Ambulance as an EMS.


He is survived by one daughter: Mary E. Babcock and her husband Michael of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley; three sons: Harold F. Rollins Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, Timothy M. Rollins and his wife Veronica of East Meadow, NY, and Michael J. Rollins and his wife Marlene of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley, PA; eight grandchildren: Joseph Babcock, Danielle Murphy, Sean Babcock, Timothy Rollins, Robert Rollins, Christopher Rollins, Sivonne Rollins and Dylan Rollins; and nine great grandchildren: Jesica, Joseph, Juliana, Christian, Lucas, Scarlett, Kiaya, Kaeley and Gianna.


He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Rollins.


There will be a Funeral Mass Thursday, October 26, at 10:00 AM at St Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 121 Richardson Ave., Shohola with Rev. Edward J. Casey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Shohola.


In lieu of flowers, Harold’s family requests that memorials be made to Central Vol. Fire Dept., PO Box 209, Rowland, PA 18454 or

American Legion, Wilson-Kelch Post 311, 521 Church St., Hawley, PA 18428.
