Obituary of Barbara A. DeMarco

Barbara A. DeMarco, age 83, of Greeley passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard DeMarco. Born January 5, 1941, in Bronx, NY, Barbara was the daughter of the late Gerardo and Theresa (Piscatelli) Caruso. A Greeley resident for 30 years, Barbara was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Shohola. She had been a member of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Bronx, NY when she lived there. Barbara loved to cook and was well known for her delicious Sunday sauce. She was also an avid reader. Most of all, she loved her family and the time they spent together. She is survived by four daughters: Kathleen Corcoran and her husband Jeff of San Diego, CA, Denise Pellegrino and her husband Guy of Greeley, Claudia DeMarco and her partner John Nichols of Mahanoy City, PA and Nicole Rawls and her husband A-Ron of Greeley; two sons: Gerald DeMarco and his wife Lori of Lackawaxen and Richard DeMarco and his wife Kristen of Menifee, CA; one sister: Gloria Laino of Long Island, NY; two brothers: Father Philip Caruso of Mahopac, NY and Salvatore Caruso of Mahopac, NY; 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Barbara was predeceased by two sisters, Caroline Jacobelli and Alexandria Fetcho, and three grandsons, Ronald DeMarco, Lawrence Tirado, and Jacob Muckelrath. Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral mass will be Thursday, February 8, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, celebrated by Barbara's brother Father Philip Caruso of St. John the Evangelist RC Church, Mahopac, NY. Private cremation will be held later at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
