Obituary of Patricia A. McCloskey

Patricia Ann (Moffitt) McCloskey , 72, of Hawley, PA passed away on Monday May 14th, 2024 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Pat was born in Honesdale, PA to Ed and Francis Moffitt on June 13, 1951. She went to Honesdale High School and graduated in 1969 holding many records as a star athlete. She went on to play lacrosse at East Stroudsburg University and earned a degree in Physical Therapy. Pat started as a Physical Therapist for Ellen Memorial Health Care Center and went on to work in financial services at State Farm Insurance. She was an avid skier, golfer, hunter, and gardener who enjoyed music and culture. Pat watched every sport on TV, but would rather attend each event her family competed in. Always driven by competition, her favorite thing was beating her grandchildren at trivia, card, and board games. Pat is survived by her two sons, Jake McCloskey of Hawley and Mike McCloskey with his wife Molly of Doylestown, PA. Her grandsons are Max and Caden in Doylestown and Michael and Matthew in Hawley. Two brothers, Michael Moffitt of N.C. and Timothy Moffitt of Honesdale, PA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 22nd 2024 from 4 to 7 at Teeters East Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be held at BVM Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hawley on May 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Richard Beck officiating.
