Gail Patricia Karn (Millar), 86, of Baldwinsville, NY passed peacefully, surrounded by family the morning of May 14, 2024. She was born March 9, 1938 to Charles and Lilian (O'Hara) in Hawley, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Hawley High School, she attended East Stroudsburg Teachers College to study education, eventually accepting a teaching position at Deerfield School District on Long Island. There she was to meet and marry the love of her life, David Karn from Macy, Indiana. Motivated by an opportunity for David at General Electric, Syracuse, their small family relocated to Baldwinsville, NY. Eventually, Gail was to teach elementary grades for the Baldwinsville School district until her retirement. Gail, an expert and prolific quilter, was a member of the Plank Road Quilters Guild, a crusader in the 'Lost Mommies' Teacher's Tenure Rights movement, a breast cancer survivor, and a participant in many local volunteer groups. Other interests included basketball, gardening, card games, travel, and family. She was a generous and loving mother. Gail will be remembered for her engaging personality and spirited conversation and storytelling abilities. A friend to all. Gail and David were faithful attendees of the annual Hawley High School multi-class reunions. She continued making the yearly trip to join her High School friend even after David's loss. She will be missed by her many Hawley friends. She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Lilian (O'Hara), brothers Walter, Douglas, Richard, and Edward, foster sister Mae (Lory), and loving husband David. She leaves behind her daughter Patricia, sons Kevin (Deb), Christopher, grandsons Ayden (Karn-Waite), Patrick, and Nathan, and several nieces and nephews.
