I'll never forget the day Gail and Ray got married in the Honesdale Wal-Mart garden center. It was so beautiful with all the Mums all around. A bit of stress waiting on the JP but it all turned out perfectly.

Q: How did you meet Raymond?
A: I met Ray at the Kingston Walmart one day when he was interviewing people to transfer to Catskill. They said they filled all the spots and told me I couldn't go but I wanted to chat with him. Little did I know Ray would be the one to change my life. We chatted briefly and he said you are going to work for me. After that next thing I knew I was in Catskill working my way through several managerial positions climbing the ladder. Ray saw something in me that everyone over looked. He gave me a chance to do better and be better in life. There were days I drove him insane but he enjoyed the challenge and guided me like father figure. I will never forget how much of an impact he had on me and I try to pay it forward today when I give the forgotten associates a chance at moving up. He showed me, passion and dedication is what makes a great leader but discipline defines you as a manager. I cannot thank him enough but I try to follow his guidance to honor his memory.

He was a really great manager when I worked at Walmart in Catskill. He was always so personable and willing to answer questions, you could really go to him for just about anything. He always seemed to have this sort of larger than life energy or life of the party energy about him.

Q: How would you describe Raymond to someone who had never met them?
A: He was never ashamed to tell everyone in the shop, or any customers that may have been around the shop, that I was his nephew and how proud he was of me and my accomplishments. Always had a great smile on his face with wonderful words of encouragement and professional sound advice to better my career. He was a great man that loved as hard as he worked. He was a family man that would take his shirt off his back to make sure the people in his life were taken care of. You will always be loved and you will always be missed Uncle Ray.

Too many memories to even pick just one. Always hearing him on the walkie. Ray saying "Take Care of the Customer!" He said it so often that you found yourself saying it in his voice when a situation came up. His calling out to customers for CMN bbqs and pushing the Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for the kids. His never ending energy and smile. He will be missed.

Q: What will you never forget about Raymond?
A: Ray was ALWAYS trying to find work for me. It didn't have to be December. I don't know anybody else who would go out of his way to do something like that.

Q: What will you never forget about Raymond?
A: On one of my lowest days because of what Jason is still going through. I saw Ray at turkey hill and all he had to do was open his arms to me and hold me. I will cherish that forever. What a special man.

One of my favorite things about my dad is his willingness to share and bring joy to others. On my wedding day, during our father daughter dance, he leaned in and said invite your mother out here, she deserves this. I will always remember that moment because it made me see how much he cared for others and taught me the important lesson to give credit to others where credit is due. He was most happy when he saw joy in others. That is a great quality to have.
