Doris re-connected with John Goodwin in her early sixties, and moved back to South Carolina to be with John. They married in 2003, where they lived and loved until John passed in 2017. Doris was a mother of the church of St. Peter's Baptist Church in Irmo, SC and an active member of the community. She had a radiant smile and a joyful outlook on life, which impacted everyone around her. She fulfilled her bucket list trip to Paris, France with her granddaughter in the summer of 2022. Doris was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth Lucy Reese Vaughn and John P. Vaughn, Jr., sister Karen Reese, brother John Paul Vaughn and her loving husband John Lewis Goodwin.
