Obituary of Mary Amelia Smith

Mary Amelia Smith, age 92, of Hawley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, September 27, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Carl Smith Sr. Born August 6, 1932, in Long Eddy, NY, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph Christopher and Mary R. (Estee) Teeple. She had worked as a sewer for Sherman's Mill in Hawley. She is survived by one daughter: Debra Heddy and her husband Scott of Hawley, three sons: Christopher Smith, David Smith and his wife Nancy, and Everett C. Smith Jr., all of Hawley; six grandchildren: Jeannette and Barbara Long, David and Timothy Roskoski, Stacy Maro, and Allison Heddy; five great grandchildren: Christina Rowe, Patrick Parshall, David Roskoski Jr., Dylan Card and Grayson Maro; six great great grandchildren: Jolene Fulkrod, Wesley Rowe, Lilah Rowe, Sophie Parshall, Harlow Parshall and Evie Parshall. Cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Mary will be interred with her husband Everett in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley, at a future date. The Smith family extends their deep thanks to the staff from Wayne Memorial Hospice for their compassionate care of Mary in her final days.
