Catherine J. Bauer, age 81, of Tafton died Monday, December 2, 2024, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bruce C. Bauer. "Love you more."

Born July of 1943, she was the daughter of the late Francis Mack and the late Julia (Coffey) Mack Dillon. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, John Dillon, who raised her with her mother Julia after her father passed when she was young. She was predeceased by a sister, Doreen Dillon.

After graduating from Weehawken High School, she joined her husband in Salina, KS where they started their family while Bruce was in the US Air Force. When they returned to NJ, Cathie worked for Allied Signal and received her associate's degree from Morris County College. She was the Human Resources manager for Honeywell Ind until her retirement in 1993.

Formerly of East Hanover, NJ, she and her husband had been residents of Tafton for 26 years.

She loved going to any Casino, going on Cruises and cruising on the family pontoon boat on Fairview Lake, and spending time at Prime Time.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter: Dawn E. Bauer of East Hanover, NJ; her son: David B. Bauer and his wife Mary of Honesdale; one grandson: Dawson B. Bauer of Honesdale; two sisters: Patricia Yturbe of Lake Hiawatha, NJ and Geraldine Dillon of Germany; one brother: Thomas Mack and his wife Eileen of Carlstadt, NJ; a sister-in-law: Brenda Eschino of Thornton, CO; and many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and a great great niece and nephew.

There will be a Celebration of Cathie's Life on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1 to 6 PM at the family home on Fairview Lake. All who loved Cathie are welcome to come and share love and memories. For directions, send email to Bruce@cralogistics.net.
