Obituary of Judith B. Costello

Judith B. Costello, age 84, of Hawley died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Delaware Valley Skilled Nursing in Matamoras. Originally from the Orange and Maplewood, New Jersey area, Judy and her husband Rich moved the family to the Lake Region of the Poconos back in 1973. Engaging herself in the community, Judy became an EMT for the local rescue squad. She had a love of music. She taught herself to play the piano before her first child was born so she'd be able to expose her children to the arts. She took singing lessons and performed in a local opera company in Narrowsburg, New York. She also took sting bass lessons! She performed chamber music and played with a polka band! Judy was always learning and enjoyed being active with things like water skiing, snow skiing, learning karate, yoga, or even tap dancing and ballet. Judy is proceeded in passing by her parents Anthony and Josephine and her husband Rich. She is survived by her three children: Mark, Laurie and Perry; grandchildren: Amanda/Wrenn, Vincent and Annika; her sister Aurora; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday, January 11, from 12 to 1 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral follow at 1:00 PM with Deacon Paul J. Cooper officiating.
