Obituary of Mary T. Wicksnes

Mary T. Wicksnes, age 57, a lifelong resident of Lackawaxen died Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at home. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul Chlebowski. Born October 19, 1955, in Callicoon, NY, she was the daughter of the late David and Jane (McGonigal) Blauvelt. A retired bartender who loved flowers and baking, Mary was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Shohola. She was also a great shot with a gun and a pool shark. A friend to all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was a hero who fought cancer for over ten years and never lost her sense of humor, spending most of her time making everyone around her feel better. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Matthew Wicksnes and his wife Melissa of Scranton; her grandson, James Wicksnes; one sister, Jane Olsen of Rowland; one brother, David Blauvelt of Shohola; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a sister, Diane Rosencrance and a brother, John Blauvelt. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, from 2 to 4 PM only at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be at a future date and time to be announced at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Parish, Shohola, with Rev. Thomas Major officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel. Mary's family requests that memorial donations in her name be sent to any of the wonderful charities that support breast cancer research.
