Uncle Joe was truly one of the finest gentlemen we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. There are so many great memories over the decades. Seeing the Phillies at Connie Mack Stadium; celebrating his and Aunt Jay's 50th Anniversary; honoring him on his 80th birthday. Priscilla will never forget his delight when he found out that we were engaged. He was so excited that there would be another person of Irish descent in the family! As young children, Lizz and Chris loved taking baths in the claw foot bath tub in the house on the hill. We are saddened by his passing but are joyous in knowing he is finally reunited with Aunt Jay and all those who have gone before him.

After almost 60 years, my first true love has left me. My dad Joe McGinty passed away Friday morning. Over that time, he was my greatest teacher, my biggest critic, my #1 fan, the biggest thorn-in-my-side (as I was his!), my most ardent cheerleader, and a huge contributor of support and inspiration one could ever have - truly "the wind beneath my wings". While there is tremendous sadness in my heart, there is comfort in knowing that he is now with the first true love of his life - his wife of 50 years, my mother, Josephine. I am one lucky lady for having them as my parents. My love for them is endless.

I remember Uncle Joe from the time we kids were so small we could not walk. He always had a quick smile and hug for me when ever i went to Grandma McGinty's and he and Aunt Josephine and the kids were there.
As I sit here I cry for you all. I know the pain of both parents being gone.
And for you Uncle Jim, for all you have lost over the years. Know that i love you.

Sandy and Kathy,
Sorry to hear of your loss. May your faith sustain you during this very difficult time. Never really knew your dad, but remember the two of you. And never forget that for Christians, it's only a temporary separation! You will see your dad again! Peace and blessings to you and yours! Bill Nichols (used to live at the bottom of the 'school hill' in Hawley).

I give you this one thought to keep -
I am with you still - I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the sweet uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft starts that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone -
I am with you still in each new dawn.

Mr McGinty was truly an exceptional man. For his community and family he gave all he had to promote a better world for all in his circle. I will always think of him with a twinkle in his eye, his quick wit, and his special clever way with words.

Mr. McGinty was a kind and generous man who touched the hearts of everyone around him. Growing up, he was grandfather to Kelli, Ryan and James, but he had a way of making all children feel loved as if they were his grandchildren, just like his late wife, Josephine. He may be at peace in heaven, but his sweet spirit continues living here on Earth with his family.
