Obituary of Mark Steven Grube

Mark Steven Grube, age 58, of Hawley, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at home. Mr. Grube was born December 7, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY, and was the son of Evelyn (Masthoff) Grube and the late William G. Grube. Mark earned his Associates Degree in Specialized Technologies from Johnson School of Technology after serving in the Army in Germany. He enlisted in the Army Reserves, where he served for 20 years before retiring in 2008. Most recently, Mark was a laborer for the Pennsylvania Department of Forestry and Waters. Mark enjoyed being outdoors, skiing, and riding his motorcycle. He liked to do electrical and automotive work. He is best known for his ready smile and McGyver-like way of repairing just about everything. He is survived by his mother: Evelyn (Masthoff) Grube of Elizabethtown, PA; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruth and John Neville of Seymour, CT, and Kathy and Sam Mylin of Willow Street, PA; one aunt: Blanche Grube of Whiting, NJ; two nieces, two nephews and one great niece and one great nephew. Cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, PA. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Green Gates Cemetery, Route 590, Hawley, on Sunday, June 9, at 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Mark's Life will follow with a luncheon at Promised Land State Park, Route 390, Promised Land, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Rd., Honesdale, PA 18431.
