Thanksgiving pumpkin cookies, special pies for holidays, willingness to take us to the Newark Airport anytime it was needed, bringing our car from PA to Chicago and only asking for a Chicago Style Pizza as payment, unerring direction sense and willingness to do anything for us, are just some of the memories of David that we treasure. We love you David and we will always keep you in our prayers.

Memories are the legacy of love. We have happy memories of David - especially from when he visited us in the country - he loved staying in the den on his way to or from Maryland or Florida where his grandparents lived. We are glad to say we had some quality time with him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We love you.

Dave,
They say the good die young and in your case they are right. I never met a man who would give of himself unconditionally as he did. He will be missed by many people who cared so much about him. I can speak for me and my parents when I say that Dave was always there to help when help was needed and he will always be cherished by the Grodacks, Chester, Carole, and Shane.

Dear Mike & Judy,
I was so sad to hear of David's passing. Taken from us so young. While there can be no explanation I can only offer you a saying someone once told me. "God calls his angels to be near him in his time of need." He must have had a very special task that only David could handle.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May God comfort you in your time of need.

Coach Schrec, Judy and Carrie-
I am still shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of David. Even though I have not seen David for years I have many memories of David and I can still see his smile.
When I think back on my days in Medina and the old neighborhood I have many memories of David “little schrec”.
I remember when David, Brett and my brother would play me in full court nerf basketball games in the top floor of my house on Mead Avenue. Playing basketball in my driveway during the winter and when I would be the all-time quarterback for games between David, Brett and my brother. He was a tuff competitor for sure!!
Between the days I spent in the gym with basketball and David hanging out at the house with my brother, not many days passed when I did not see him. Looking back on it now, he was like another little brother to me when I was growing up.
I hope these memories of how I remember David put a smile on your face for a second and make it a little easier to deal with your loss.
Forever Young…
Mark Thomas

Mike, Judy, Carrie, and the family, we are so very sorry for your loss. 44, so young, so sudden. Words can not describe the loss. David will be greatly missed by so many. He was always willing to lend a hand when needed. We still remember him riding his bike up and down south shore drive and how much he enjoyed summers at the lake. We really enjoyed talking to David this summer about his upcoming trip to Colorado - he was so excited. David your spirit will always be in our hearts.

I spent two great years at Ramey from 2/10/1968 until 2/10/1970. I went on one TDY in late 68 to the Goose. What a shock when I got off that plane in November with a short sleeve shirt on. I hated Ramey but I loved it. I think most of us who were there druing that time can relate to this comment. I wonder where Rick Benoit is now? He had a band and they played at Stanley's on weekends. Back then he sounded good but it could have been the 151 I was drinking. I remember the night I was parking a B52 and the wing caught the metro on the flight line and both had much damage. The AP was asleep in the truck when it happened. We had lots of explaining to do but of course I came out great and never lost any rank.

Christmas of 67 a bunch of us guys took the bus to San Juan for Christmas. We stayed at the Hilton (months sraaly) had a great dinner then a floor show. That night Nancy Wilson was the headliner. After her set she came over and sat with the 4 of us and ended up paying for our dinner and all our drinks for the rest of the evening. For years after that she would always send me a Christmas card as I would her. We stayed friends for over 30+ yeas.
