James J Williams, age 72, of Fawn Lake Forest, Hawley, died Friday, February 1, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Born July 2, 1940, inNew York City, NY, he the son of the late Jordan and Anna (Hamlin) Williams.
Prior to his retirement, he had been a Corrections Sergeant at Fishkill Corrections Facility with 30 years of service at various locations. James loved to play golf with his friends.
He is survived by one son: Kevin Williams and his wife Alicia of Columbia, SC; one daughter and son-in-law: Shaun and Eugene Carter of Hampton, VA; his companion: Jane Cole of Hawley, PA; his step-mother: Mary Williams of Manhattan, NY; a sister: Virginia Crenshaw of Queens, NY; his step-sons: Timothy Cole of Liberty, NY, William Cole of Hawley, PA, and Christopher Cole of Eriel, NJ; and two half-sisters: Laurie and Tammy, both of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Private cremation was held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel, PA.
