Wendy Kay Knorr, age 60, of Pocono Lake Preserve, Pocono Lake pass away on February 10, 2013 while surrounded by her family at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre, PA.
She was born February 18, 1952 in Scranton, PA and was the daughter of Joseph A. and the recently deceased, Jane L. (Kuhn) Smith.
Wendy would have celebrated her 27th wedding anniversary with her loving husband, Kevin I. Knorr on February 14th. She is survived by her three daughters: Julie Pierson of Blooming Grove, PA, Sarah & her husband, Brett Schagelin of Newton, NJ, Talli Knorr still living at home; one sister: Karen L. Martin and her companion, Jerry McDonald of Hawley, PA;four grandchildren, Aiden Pierson, Hannah Schagelin, Asher Schagelin and Gavin Pierson-Niles.
Wendy graduated from Wallenpaupack High School in 1970. She and Kevin attended the Pocono Lake Weslyan Church every Sunday. She was always caring for the injured or sick as a volunteer or employee for Tobyhanna Township Ambulance, Pocono Mt. Regional Ambulance, and Barrett Township Ambulance.
She was known for her artistic ability and kind heart by everyone she knew. She made many beautiful gifts full of love for her family and friends throughout her life. She also loved to read and could be found curled up in the late hours reading from her Nook. Wendy loved all kinds of animals and her home was always filled with a menagerie of pets. No stray animal that came within her reach would be homeless for long. She will be greatly missed by many.
Fulfilling Wendy's request to not have any services, a private dinner will be held by her family to celebrate her life.
