Obituary of Phyllis M. Comly

Phyllis Mary Comly, nee Feeney, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, February 16, 2013. Born July 11, 1922, in Shenandoah, VA, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice Kite Feeney. She graduated in 1940 from Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, Ohio. Phyllis worked at Bendix Corporation in the 1940's where she met her future husband, Elwood Comly. She was active as a volunteer at the First Cheltenham Library and was involved in Scouting. She moved to Huntingdon Valley in 1959 where she was a Charter Member of Saint Hillary's Parish and was very active in the Women's Society. Phyllis spent forty years as a volunteer at the Holy Redeemer Hospital and was also a member of the Women's League Bowling Team. She worked as a Hostess at Lord and Taylor's Restaurant. Phyllis was an avid reader and was very artistic, having skills in needlework and sewing. In her later years, she moved to Hawley, Pa, to live with her daughter, Barbara. She is survived by her son: Richard Elwood Comly and his wife, Janice; her daughters: Barbara Comly Corrigan and Cynthia Comly; her grandchildren: Christopher Comly and his wife Michele Scola Comly, James Comly and his wife Christina Reinecke Comly, Sara Corrigan and her husband Michael Searls, Rebecca Corrigan, Christian Thompson and his wife Sara Sigg Thompson, Jennifer Buchanan and her husband Ben Buchanan and Geoffrey Thompson; her great-grandchildren: William Comly, Alison Comly, Kristin Comly, Aiden Christopher Thompson, Autumn Lynn Thompson, Noah James Buchanan, Alexander David Buchanan and Olivia Searls; and her great-great grandchildren: Mackenzie Comly and Jordan Comly. She was most proud of her family. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Feeney, and her husband of forty-one years, Elwood H. Comly. Visitation will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 23, at St. Hillary of Poitiers Parish, 820 Susquehanna Rd., Rydal, PA 19046. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at North and Southampton Churchyard, 1380 Bristol Rd., Churchville, PA. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, NEPA Regional, 63 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 or American Cancer Society, Wayne Unit, 110 4th St., Suite 9-12, Honesdale, PA 18431-
