I knew Matt briefly during our teenage years. The thing that I recall the most is his uncanny sense of humor and the strength of the Bortree family unit-one being a testament to the other. I never saw a kid with a disability, but one with determination to just do what he wanted to do and then, actually doing it. I am sure he touched many hearts and lives in his brief number of years. We could all only hope to leave as remarkable a legacy as Matt has.
