Stephanie and Scott,
Please accept my deepest sympathy at the loss of your Mother. It was my great honor and pleasure for me to work with your Mom for many years when she was the head teacher at the Paupack School and I was the Elementary Principal of the Wallenpaupack Schools. Your Mom was the head teacher when I first became a principal, and I have forever been indebted to her for her kindness and advice to me as a novice administrator. She was an outstanding teacher and mentor.
One of my favorite stories about your Mom was my taking advantage of her ability to sew. Since neither my wife nor I are great with a sewing needle, whenever a button fell off my coat or shirt, I made sure it fell out of my pocket while I was standing by her desk. She always offered to sew the button back on, and I never declined!!!
My hopes and prayers are with you at this sad time.

Stephanie and Scott, It has been a long time since I saw your Mom but I have such wonderful memories of her as my 3/4 grade teacher at Paupack Elem. She taught me so much in those years, she was my teacher when Reagan was shot, when my Grandfather died and just at an important time in any 10 year old's life. She was always my favorite teacher, and I remember her so fondly. She is now with your Dad, but her love for the two of you and her zest for life will never be forgotten. Blessings to you and your family. And always love to Mrs. B.

Mrs. Buehler was a very talented teacher. She knew how to run her classroom, teach two grades at once, address different learning styles/abilities, hold children accountable, play the piano, and make us all feel like individuals. I knew I was fortunate as a child that I had her as a teacher in that special school. We had the most wonderful playground, and when the weather was especially nice, or when Mr. Hane, the building custodian had just cut the grass, she would let us all stay out for recess for a little while longer. Who could ever forget our cultural evenings? The fun and exciting plays that Mrs. Buehler would orchestrate along with our music teacher, Miss Sebastianelli, were priceless memories for us all. I remember back in October 1982, she has something special to share with us all: her son, Scott, carved a pumpkin in the most striking resemblance of the face of ET (it was such a popular movie at the time and we all talked about it so much). When we all saw the "ET Jack O' Lantern" we all said, "wow!" I remember the smile she had on her face at seeing our shared reactions.
I could go on and on and share more memories about her and the Paupack School.. How blessed we all were to have her as a teacher. I wrote to her in 2004 when my first son was born. I included a picture and thanked her for making a difference in my life. I also included this quote in the letter, because it rings true of Mrs. Buehler:
"One hundred years from now,
it won't matter what kind of house I lived in, what kind of car I drove, how much money I had in my bank account, nor the clothes I wore; BUT the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child".
Virginia Buehler touched a lot of people's lives as well as their hearts.

Ginny was such a wonderful teacher, friend, historian, knitter, mentor, resort owner, etc!!! Every year we still hang our children's beautiful Christmas stockings and then the ones she made for their spouses when each got married! Such a loss to her family and the community-but a gain for heaven.
