Russell Albrecht Bennett, age 87, of Hawley died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at Julia Ribaudo Senior Care Center, Lake Ariel.
Mr. Bennett was born June 4, 1916 at Hawley, PA the son of the late Wesley and the late Mary (Albrecht) Bennett.
He served in the Army Air Corps from to during World War II .
Predeceased by a son David B. Bennett and a brother Robert Bob Bennett.
He was employed as a data processor at the Philadelphia National Bank
Mr. Bennett was Past President of Green Gates Cemetery Assn. , Member of the Wayne-Pike Shrine Club, the Honesdale Lodge #218; the Salem Lodge #300 in Hamlin; the Anthony Wayne Royal Arch Chapter #204 in Honesdale; the Sevona Commandry #89 in Honesdale; the Riblah Council #89 in Lansdowne, PA; the Knights of the York Cross of Honour; and the Council of Anointed Kings of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the American Legion Post 311; social member of the Hawley Fire Dept. and an associate member of the Hawley Ambulance & Rescue
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Georgia (Broadbent) Bennett
Son & Daughter-in-law, Richard W. And Mary M. Bennett of Western Spring, IL; Granddaughter & Grandson-in-law, Jennifer & Michael Allen of Arlington, VA; Granddaughter, Holly Bennett of Chicago, IL and 2 nieces.
Memorial service will be Saturday Feb 21, 2004 at 11:00 at Hawley United Methodist Church, 315 Church St., Hawley with Rev. Theodore Muller Visitation Pastor officiating.
