Obituary of Sophie I. Loch

Sophie I. Loch, age 91, of Lakeville died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leonard Loch Sr. Born November 3, 1920, in Throop, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Cecelia (Mashlonkoski) Malhenzie. She was a retired hairdresser and had lived in Bridgeport, CT, prior to moving to Lakeville in 1976. Mrs. Loch was a member of BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Hawley. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also an avid reader and loved to cook and play bingo at the Lakeville Firehouse. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son: Leonard "Len" Loch Jr. of Lakeville, PA; one daughter: Patricia Hanlon and her husband Jim of Oxford, CT; two grandchildren: Jimmy Hanlon and his fiancee Amy Cook and Kara Bouchard and her husband David; a great granddaughter: Sophia Bouchard; two sisters-in-law: Theresa Romanski of Hamlin and Lorraine Loch of Milford, PA; a brother-in-law: George Loch of Marietta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Rusiniak, Florence Skierski and Cecelia Rains, as well as a brother, Joseph. There will be a Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 30, at 10:00 AM at BVM Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley, with Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in B.V.M. Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley. Per Sophie's request, there will be no public calling hours.
