George W. Potaris, age 90, of Blooming Grove, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel.
Mr. Potaris was born July 17, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Christo and Katharine (Fragos) Potaris.
George was a decorated WW II veteran who served with the 3807 Quartermaster Truck Company Second Wave Normandy. He was wounded and instead of going home he went back to his company, his brothers in war. He retired three times and loved to fish and was always out on his boat. He brought JOY, LAUGHTER, and ALWAYS LOVE and taught Kathy to extend a hand and ask "how can I help", George was not Kathy's natural father but he loved her just because she was herself. It doesn't get better than that she was sooo blessed. Today's new friend is tomorrow' family.
