Obituary of Ivaloe V. Tether

Ivaloe V. Tether, lovingly known as "Skip", died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City, FL at the age of 87.
Mrs. Tether was born June 14, 1925, in Hagerstown, MD, and was the daughter of the late Roland and Helena (Marmaduke) Alexander.
She and her husband spent many years traveling during the time Charles "Sonny" Tether served in the US Navy and eventually settled in Hawley, PA. She dedicated her early years to being a loving wife and mother raising her four children. She finally was at a place in her life where she could become a practicing RN. She was employed by Wayne Memorial Hospital as an operating room nurse. Upon resigning from Wayne Memorial she worked as a nurse in Dr. Dewar's office in Tafton, PA. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Orange City, FL. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered for her strong and witty personality, shopping trips, great meals, "fuzzies" on her soda and love of purple.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Charles Tether; two sons: Charles Tether II and David E. Tether; two daughters: Kathy Jo Plank and Deborra Rickert; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren, who called her "Nana"; and two brothers: Harold E. Alexander and David M. Alexander.
Calling hours will be Monday, May 6th, from 6 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday, May 7th, at 10 AM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, with Rev. Colleen E. Cox, Pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Paupack, PA.
