Thomas E. Horan, age 85, of Grandpa's Wood, Tafton died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel. Mr. Horan was born August 31, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Thomas and Lillian (Turtell) Horan. Tom served in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Swasey- DE 248 from 1945 to 1947 He worked for many years on Wall Street as a bond trader for Goldman, Sacks and Standard and Poor's from where he retired in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Anne(Seeney) Horan; his niece, Kathleen & Larry Costigan; nephew, Kenneth & Janet Horan; brother-in-law, Harold & Margaret Seeney; nephews, Harry, Gary & his wife Colleen, Joseph and niece, Mary Ann & Anthony Barcellona along with many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Walter Horan and sister-in-law, Madeline. Calling hours will be Friday, May 10th from 5 to 8 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 11th at 9:30 AM at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley by Rev. Richard W. Beck, Pastor. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or The United States Navy Memorial, 701 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Suite 123, Washington, DC 20004-2608 or donor's choice.
