Obituary of Jack Lee Evans

Jack Lee Evans, age 72, of Paupackan Lake Estates, Hawley, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 4, 2004, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Born September 1, 1932 in Newark, OH, he was the son of the late Bryant Jennings and the late Anna (Moran) Evans. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy I. Baxter, whom he married in 1967. He served in the Army for four years during the Korean War. For 20 years, he owned and operated the Dublin Diner in Dublin, PA, where he was a resident until 1987. Mr. Evans was Vice-President and Board Member of Paupackan Lake Association, former President and Councilman in Dublin Boro, a Lions Club member, served as a policeman in Dublin, and was an avid computer hobbyist. He attended Salem Reform Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Kimberly Evans and Jacquelin Parece, both of Florida; a stepson: George Wiley of Quakertown, PA; two sisters: Virginia Evans and Sharon Roberts; and one brother: Robert Evans, all of Ohio; 2 grandsons; 2 granddaughters and two great grandchildren. Mr Evans was one of 15 children. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 at Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, 182 West Court St., Doylestown. There will also be a Prayer Service Tuesday at 8:45PM with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor of Hawley United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.
