Obituary of Alice A. Laabs

Alice A. Laabs, age 94, of Hawley died Saturday, January 15, 2005, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Mrs. Laabs was born September 27, 1910 in Scranton, PA, and was the daughter of the late Earl and the late Eva (Cron) Watson. She was employed as a weaver & cutter by Ankes Mill In Hawley. Mrs. Laabs was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church ULCW and Willing Workers. She was a former member of the Daughters of America and the Rebecca Lodge and Hawley Fire Dept Ladies Aux. She is survived by one daughter: Jean Gumble of Paupack, PA and one son: Richard Laabs of Hawley, PA; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 19. 2005, at 2:00PM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley with Rev. David Heckler, Pastor St. Pauls Lutheran Church, officiating.
