Obituary of George A. Connelly

George A. Connelly, age 71, of Barker St Apts. in Hawley died Friday, May 12, 2006, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Archibald and the late Elizabeth (Kintsch) Connelly and grandson of the late George and the late Teklach Kintsch. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 32 years, Gloria Karen Bretone. After attending the School of Industrial Arts in New York, he worked as an artist and printer and had several gallery shows. He later became a restaurant manager until his retirement. Prior to moving to the Wayne/Pike county area 15 years ago, he had lived in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Sharon Furer, JoAnn Elswick, Robin Furer; three sons: George Connelly Jr., Peter Connelly, and Scott Furer and his wife, Jacki; seven grandchildren: Kaitlin, Karissa, Lynn, Jodi, Megan, Maureen and Alexis Esposito; and one great grandchild: Shaun. He was preceded in death by a son, Martin Furer, and a grandson, Michael. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9 to 10 AM at TEETERS' First Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:00AM at the funeral home with Rev. Norman R. Beighley, Pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rowland, officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
