Obituary of Clarence Willis James

Clarence Willis James, age 103, of Westcolang Lake, Hawley, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at home.
Mr. James was born October 11, 1903, in White Hall Corners, Lackawaxen Twp., PA, and was the son of the late Leif and Mary (Melvin) James. He was predeceased by his wife, Lou Emma "Toots" Holbert James.
He was a retired supervisor for Farview State Prison. Mr. James was a founding member of Central Vol. Fire Dept.; he was the Lackawaxen Twp. Historian and a Delaware River Basin Committee member.
He is survived by one daughter: Nancy Bartz of East Stroudsburg, PA; one son: Donald James of Westcolang Lake, Hawley, PA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Mr. James was predeased by a daughter, Betty Hooper, and 4 sisters, Mary Smith, Gertrude Martin, Edith Blackmore, and Bertie Christiansen.
Calling hours will be Friday, April 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will be Saturday, April 7, at 11:00AM at TEETERS' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor of Hawley United Methodist Church, officiating.
